"We'd love if the Cooler could stock Fruit by the Foot and Gushers!"
We are happy to say that Fruit by the Foot was in stock in the Cooler within 10 days of your request. Enjoy! Gushers, however are not stocked by any of our suppliers.
"Get Quest Protein Bars!!"
The Quest Protein Bars that we can obtain would be much more expensive than any of our other protein bars. Have you tried the "Think Thin" bars in the Marketplace? Like Quest Bars they contain 20 grams of protein, and they are quite tasty.
"Hi! As a gluten-free vegan, I LOVE when the marketplace has vegan vegetable soups. I get very sad when the only soup options are either meat or vegetarian with dairy. I LIVE on the marketplace's fresh soup, and I know many other that do--so it'd be awesome if there could be a vegan soup option as often as possible! As for the vegan soups they've made so far--keep up the good work! My favorites are the mixed vegetable, zucchini basil puree, tomato-basil soup, and the eggplant puree. SO GOOD. Sincerely, Soup lover"
Thank you for the kind words about our GF and Vegan soups. We aim to please! Looking back on the three full weeks of November we were open, you had a good run of options. Weekdays we served soups that were both Vegan AND GF 4 days, 3 days and 4 days respectively. That's a typical pattern for us :-).
"At the beginning of the year, the marketplace had organic grapefruits. Could you pleaseee bring those back again? Citrus season is upon us and I seriously would love grapefruits. Organic would be great, but I will settle for any grapefruit. They're my absolute favorite."
You are correct, it is citrus season, and we are stocking grapefruits, usually in the grab & go. Most are organic. Enjoy!
"Does the marketplace have gluten free AND vegan bread? Also, where can I find the ingredients for the Gallasos breads?"
We carry GF Bread and Vegan Breads, but we do not have one bread that is both. The Udi's GF bread contains egg. The ingredients for the Gallaso's Breads are in this PDF Document.
"Is there anyway we can get a brand of almond/peanut butter that doesn't use palm oil? It's incredibly detrimental to the environment not to mention super high in saturated fat. As a vegan, I rely on nut butters as a source of protein and would prefer to not have to buy them off campus. Thanks!"
While we're still researching, it appears that Justin's, which we carry at the snack stand in the Marketplace, is a good option for a variety of reasons. At least three of their varieties are made with certified sustainably sourced Palm Fruit Oil: Classic Peanut Butter, Honey Peanut Butter and Vanilla Almond Butter. Justin's website states that they use Palm Fruit Oil because " it minimizes oil separation which many consumers prefer. Palm fruit oil contains no trans-fatty acids and much less saturated fat than coconut and palm kernel oil..." Justin's other varieties simply list "Palm Oil" as an ingredient, which could be Palm Kernel Oil - less desirable for both health and sustainability. We are going to send them an e-mail to see if there really is a difference between varieties, or if the packaging just hasn't caught up with their certification.
"I love the sweet chili sauce that's kept in the yogurt case, but sporadically its gone! Any possibility of keeping it constantly stocked?"
Sometimes the sweet chili sauce takes a walk with another customer - just ask and we're happy to get you another bottle!
"Add a chocolate milk dispenser to the marketplace. A bunch of other schools have them and the chocolate milk cartons that are sold are so small. Plus it's a great recovery drink for athletes! "
Other schools have other suppliers - our dairy, unfortunately no longer provides milk in 6 gallon bulk containers. Here are some options for larger containers of chocolate milk that we can offer (repeated from our 11/12/15 suggestion box):
- The Marketplace *occasionally* stocks quarts of chocolate milk
- The Cooler and Coffee cart both stock a 12 oz. container
- The Cooler will make you a chocolate milk to order - up to 22 oz mmmmmmm!
"What are the specific ingredients in the marinara sauce at the marketplace?"
We'll do better than that - here's the recipe!
