Suggestions Through 12/2/16
"Could we please have fresh berries at the waffle station instead of the syrupy kind?"
Fresh berries fluctuate dramatically in price and availability. They also require significant staff preparation time, which would subtract from preparing other items from scratch. The frozen berries we use have a consistent price because they are harvested at peak season, and are convenient and quick for the staff members who maintain the station.
"Can we bring back pesto to the mp?"
Yes :-) Look for the individual Pesto containers in the Grab & Go case!
"At the homestyle section today, Thursday November 17th, the sign for the food was spelled "Philipino Pork Adobo". Through my experience (being Filipino), I always spelled it as Filipino or Pilipino (traditional way). May I ask: Why did you spell it as Philipino? Other than that, it was delicious!"
The labeling was simple human error, as well as misinformation on our part. We'll get it right next time. We're glad you liked the Adobo, and thank you for educating us!
"I was wondering if it would be possible to have a panini press in either the cooler or the marketplace sandwich bar?"
"I'm an oxy tiger when it comes to the sandwich bar at the MP, I devour; however, it would be super cool if we could make paninis, cause those taste soo good. Thanks! Just one press is all I ask."
Unfortunately, one panini press would not meet the demand of either the Markeplace or the Cooler. If you are here over winter break this year we will treat you to the sandwiches in the Marketplace grilled to order, but during the school year this would really slow down the lines, not to mention the electrical needs, upkeep, and cleaning required to maintain the presses.
"Bring back the empanadas, please!",
We'd love to, but the frozen Empanadas we offered weekly at the Grill station were recalled and never returned to production. We are on the hunt for a substitute, but haven't yet found something that meets our price and quality requirements.

On weekdays we can do Hash Browns OR Tator Tots, and in terms of popularity, Tots win. Look for Hash Browns on Saturdays and Sundays however!
Tiger Cooler: "Chicken nuggets would be awesome!"
"Please make banana muffins/bread without nuts, because they are delicious and creamy that way and I'm also allergic to nuts."
"I would love some good pad Thai with tofu!"
We do offer breakfast burritos at the Cooler three morning per week (M, W, F @ 10:30), but we could not offer them consisitently with our current labor budger. Evening staff resources are currently utilized in order to offer rice bowls as a dinner option.
One cook was identified as having recently developed this problem, and has been consulted directly. It is not the dough or underheated oven, but a training issue. All cooks will be reminded of the importance of cooking the pizza products correctly.
As a scratch cooking kitchen, some of those "abstract" recipes are to fully utilize ingredients we have on hand, including local, organic and seasonal items. Your go-to place for traditional pizza is likely to be the Cooler ;-)
We have tried toppings such as sprinkles, nuts, etc. in the past, and they proved to be more trouble than they are worth (mess, portion control, employees grazing...) However, chocolate and caramel sauces as well as whipped cream are always available to those who request them.
The Marketplace doesn't have sufficient staffing to add breakfast sandwiches. You can, of course gather all the ingredients and make one yourself. The Tiger Cooler offers breakfast sandwiches every day Monday - Saturday. English muffin with egg & cheese, then either baco, sauage, ham, tomato or simple egg & cheese. Quantities are based on sales. Once they are gone, they're gone.
